In October 2008, my stepfather, Greg, took me fishing up the North Fork of the Clearwater River near Pierce, Idaho. I’d been on a few fishing trips before but this time I felt, for the first time, the true nature of fishing. This song is about casting into that river, feeling the power of its rushing water, and reeling in my first catch.
